Keith Olbermann Rush-like Monologue Blasts Hillary Clinton

With talk of nothing but NY Governor Spitzer's resignation, etc. on the Fox News Channel and CNN at the time, we switched to MSNBC. Usually, we just switch to Hardball and Abrams between commercials. This time, we stayed for Olbermann's entire monologue which was dramatically given without a crack of a smile. Somber comes to mind. Keith could be the one reaching for the handle of the red phone!

It's a crisis. And Keith Olbermann has the solution.

What seemed like half-an-hour rant against Hillary Clinton turned out to be only ten minutes. Listening carefully to his phrasing so as not to miss the undertones, he expressed his main gripe:

Clinton didn't reject and denounce Geraldine Ferraro and her comments about Barack Obama on the date Ferraro made the comments he recognizes, and the world recognizes as being clearly racist.

He suggested Clinton was running her campaign as if she were the Republican and Obama the only Democrat.

Can't wait to see if Rush Limbaugh picks up on the Olbermann break-down...

Olbermann Slams Clinton in Special Comment: "You Are Campaigning As If Barack Obama Were The Democrat And You Were The Republican"
Huffington Post | Rachel Sklar | March 12, 2008 09:11 PM

Tonight, as promised, Keith Olbermann attacked Senator Hillary Clinton in a ten-minute "Special Comment," saying that he was not endorsing Barack Obama but that "events insist" that he speak and stand against her "tepid response" to the controversial remarks of Geraldine Ferraro wherein she said that Obama wouldn't have been as successful if he were not black. Last night Olbermann decried the statements as "clearly racist";...

Keith Olbermann to Make a Special Comment about Ferraro and the Clinton Campaign Tomorrow Night
By Laura Hussein Jordan - March 11, 2008, 11:58PM
What shocked me even more was the statement made by Clinton's campaign manager, Maggie Williams, essentially asserting that it's the Obama campaign that's trying to stir racial resentment by taking issue with Ferraro's statements.

That's the point of these tactics. You make some high-profile, racially provocative comments. Then if the Obama campaign responds in any way, you accuse them of trying to stir up race issues. The tactic might work with a certain percentage of white people who hate it whenever black people complain about anything related to race or racism in America. It's all part of the long-term Clinton strategy of trying to make Obama look more "black" to white voters, and less "transcendant".

Keith Olbermann To Do "Special Comment" About Hillary Clinton Tonight — First Time Targeting A Democrat11 hours ago on The Huffington Post

Thank you for posting this. It's important because KO has voiced his fondness for Clintons in the past. If he decries her tactics, I think it's very poignant because it means she is crossing the line and hurting the party. KO has always rabidly defende...
