DeWeese vows to push agenda

HARRISBURG -- Although a grand jury investigation of bonuses paid to staff members has proved a distraction in the House, Majority Leader Bill DeWeese pledges to move aggressively on an agenda that again includes open records legislation, a smoking ban and property tax reductions.
Outside experts are skeptical of lawmakers' ability to get much done this year. The same issues -- along with health care and alternative energy programs -- were supposed to be dealt with last fall. The House and Senate return to session Jan. 14...
