The deadline for submitting the votes was last week. Congress will meet on January 8th. Can Congress over-ride the Delegates if they did not give Obama his minimum required of 270? Will U.S. Supreme Court Justices adopt a schedule to hear arguments in a case challenging Barack Obama's eligibility to be 'elected' President based on citizenship requirements as contained in the United States Constitution? Will the Supremes order Barack Obama to produce a copy of his original birth certificate to settle a question over its authenticity and Obama's United States citizenship and thus qualification to become President of the United States?

We've covered World Net Daily and Joseph Farah's petition drive to force the release of Obama's original birth certificate at length in our piece:

Bush the Pardoner Ignores Border Patrol Agents WND Ignores Bush Neglect

WND has been at the forefront reporting on the plight of the two border agents Ignatio Ramos and Jose Compean, yet not a word about Bush's continued neglect of legal requests for a full pardon of the men.

Instead, WND has appeared to focus in a nearly obsessive-compulsive way on Barack Obama's birth certificate.

Yet, we still find absolutely no mention of the statements of Law Professor Eugene Volokh as reported in Chicago Tribune article Obama birth certificate rumor debunked James Janega Tribune reporter October 30, 2008.

UCLA lists the article among Headlines for that date.

Eugene Volokh
Volokh, UCLA professor of law, is quoted today in a Chicago Tribune article about rumors concerning the authenticity of Barack Obama’s birth certificate.

But to World Net Daily, it's as if the article was never published and a well-known legal analyst and expert never provided commentary enough to 'debunk' the ineligibility accusation.

The article even cites WND, yet there is silence about that and the title of the article alone is provocative.

Obama birth certificate rumor debunked By James Janega Tribune reporter October 30, 2008

The issue of whether Obama is a "natural born citizen"—a citizen at birth—was raised in a June 10 article on the conservative Web site World Net Daily.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-birth-certificate-30-oct30,0,1742172.story?track=rss

The article relies heavily on the analysis of Eugene Volokh, co-writer with his brother of the Volokh Conspiracy blog site. It's not as if the site is not well known itself.

In the article, Volokh is referenced several times...

Hawaii was a state in 1961, when Obama was born. Any person born in the U.S. automatically is a "natural born citizen," said University of California Los Angeles law professor Eugene Volokh.

Even if a person is born outside the United States, courts have ruled any child born to at least one U.S. citizen is a U.S. citizen, Volokh said. Stanley Ann Dunham would have counted even if Obama's Kenyan father did not.

If this becomes an issue in a post-election eligibility challenge, expect a likely sticking point to be the legal definition in 1961 of how parents could be called U.S. citizens for this purpose, Volokh said. At the time Obama was born, the law stated that a person would be considered a "natural born citizen" if either parent was a citizen who had lived at least 10 years in the U.S., including five years after the age of 14—in other words, 19.

Dunham was three months shy of her 19th birthday when Obama was born. But subsequent acts of Congress relaxed the requirement to five years in the U.S., including just two years after the age of 14, meaning Dunham could have been 16 and still qualified even if Obama was born in another country, Volokh said. Congress made the law retroactive to 1952, doubly covering Obama.

Any legal challenge would have to argue that Congress can't make someone retroactively a citizen at birth, and prove Obama was born outside of the U.S. after all.

Supremes to review citizenship arguments
Case challenging candidacy set for 'conference' of justices Posted: November 20, 2008
By Bob Unruh © 2008 WorldNetDaily

The biggest question is why Obama, if a Hawaii birth certificate exists as his campaign has stated, simply hasn't ordered it made available to settle the rumors.

The governor's office in Hawaii said there is a valid certificate but rejected requests for access and left ambiguous its origin: Does the certificate on file with the Department of Health indicate a Hawaii birth or was it generated after the Obama family registered a Kenyan birth in Hawaii?

http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=81484

Why hasn't Obama made the original certificate available? Maybe because he's already shown proof of his Honolulu birth by way of the Certificate of Live Birth?

In the Four Questions for the Trojan Candidate, the writer claims the Texas Darling blog was the first to take a serious look at Obama's Constitutional eligibility.

Supremes to review citizenship arguments
Case challenging candidacy set for 'conference' of justices

...Obama's half-sister, Maya Soetoro, has named two different Hawaii hospitals where Obama could have been born. There have been other allegations that Obama actually was born in Kenya during a time when his father was a British subject.

The California action was filed by Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation on behalf of Keyes, the presidential candidate of the American Independent Party, along with Wiley S. Drake and Markham Robinson, both California electors.

"Should Senator Obama be discovered, after he takes office, to be ineligible for the Office of President of the United States of America and, thereby, his election declared void, Petitioners, as well as other Americans, will suffer irreparable harm in that (a) usurper will be sitting as the President of the United States, and none of the treaties, laws, or executive orders signed by him will be valid or legal," the action challenges....

...The California case states, "There is a reasonable and common expectation by the voters that to qualify for the ballot, the individuals running for office must meet minimum qualifications as outlined in the federal and state Constitutions and statutes, and that compliance with those minimum qualifications has been confirmed by the officials overseeing the election process," the complaint said, when in fact the only documentation currently required is a signed statement from the candidate attesting to those qualifications.

"Since [the secretary of state] has, as its core, the mission of certifying and establishing the validity of the election process, this writ seeks a Court Order barring SOS from certifying the California Electors until documentary proof that Senator Obama is a 'natural born' citizen of the United States of America is received by her," the document said.

"This proof could include items such as his original birth certificate, showing the name of the hospital and the name and the signature of the doctor, all of his passports with immigration stamps, and verification from the governments where the candidate has resided, verifying that he did not, and does not, hold citizenship of these countries, and any other documents that certify an individual’s citizenship and/or qualification for office.

The "certificate of live birth" posted by the Obama campaign cannot be viewed as authoritative, the case alleges.

"Hawaii Revised Statute 338-178 allows registration of birth in Hawaii for a child that was born outside of Hawaii to parents who, for a year preceding the child’s birth, claimed Hawaii as their place of residence," the document said. "The only way to know where Senator Obama was actually born is to view Senator Obama's original birth certificate from 1961 that shows the name of the hospital and the name and signature of the doctor that delivered him."

The case also raises the circumstances of Obama's time during his youth in Indonesia, where he was listed as having Indonesian citizenship. Indonesia does not allow dual citizenship, raising the possibility of Obama's mother having given up his U.S. citizenship.

Any subsequent U.S. citizenship then, the case claims, would be "naturalized," not "natural-born."

WND has reported other challenges that have been raised in Ohio, Connecticut, Washington, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Hawaii.

Where was Obama born?

I heard about an elementary school in New York that was renamed for Barack Obama.

You may have heard about the plans to designate Nov. 4 as Barack Obama Day.

But, so far, at least, I have not heard of any plans for so much as a plaque to be installed in the hospital in which the next president was born.

Do you know why?

Because the location of the hospital in which Barack Obama was born is something of a state secret.

It is information the American people should know, because it would be revealed on his birth certificate – if only we could see it.

The story, as told in Obama's ghostwritten autobiography, "Dreams of My Father," is that he was born in Hawaii Aug. 4, 1961. Yet, the only alleged birth certificate released by the Obama campaign lacks the significant details normally associated with such a document – like specifically where he was born...

...Why is there so much secrecy about the birthplace of Barack Hussein Obama Jr.?

If you doubt what I am saying, try to find any reference to a hospital associated with Obama's birth. The only one you will find anywhere is the Coast Provincial Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya, where his African relatives claim to have been present when he arrived...

http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=81964

Snopes Who is Barack Obama?

...born 4 August 1961 at the Queen's Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii

http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/muslim.asp

We have to wonder, what if the original birth certificate doesn't contain that Medical Center, Queens', as the hospital of his birth - So what. What if another hospital is listed for some reason unknown to anybody. Even if such were the case, it wouldn't be proof Obama was not born in Honolulu County as recorded on documentation Obama has already provided.

WND's founder, Joseph Farah states

If you doubt what I am saying, try to find any reference to a hospital associated with Obama's birth. The only one you will find anywhere is the Coast Provincial Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya, where his African relatives claim to have been present when he arrived.

This is where the highlighted section leads.

Obama's birth certificate sealed by Hawaii governor
Says Democratic senator must make request to obtain original document
Posted: October 26, 2008 9:54 pm Eastern By Jerome R. Corsi
http://www.wnd.com/index.php?pageId=79174

So as support for Farah's declaration the only hospital associated with Obama's birth is the Coast Provincial Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya, Farah offers the Jerome Corsi article.

What does that article reveal?

In a startling development, Obama's Kenyan grandmother has reportedly alleged she witnessed Obama's birth at the Coast Provincial Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya.

Now notice the particular wording

grandmother has reportedly alleged she witnessed Obama's birth at the Coast Provincial Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya.

And notice, there is no link to any material that would provide a resource to the reader of where that 'reportedly alleged' witnessing was reported!

There isn't even a reference to Corsi's own book, Obama Nation, or a footnote referenced from the book, or any indication Corsi interviewed the grandmother himself, or someone else interviewed the grandmother.

There is simply nothing. No resource whatsoever.

We can tell you if we submitted anthing like these two articles with those statements and did not provide a resource other than the same two articles back and forth we would be laughed out of the writing and journalism business.

Over at What Really Happened, though we rarely visit, the site came up in a search, WRH comments on part of the Corsi article, the part where the Governor Lingle reportedly, according to Corsi, indicated Obama's birth certificate had been 'sealed.'

Thank you for emailing Governor Linda Lingle's office. A recent article in WorldNetDaily.com (October 26, 2008) claiming that Hawai‘i Governor Linda Lingle sealed Sen. Barack Obama's birth certificate is false...

http://whatreallyhappened.com/content/governor-lingle-story-about-sealing-obama-records-false

The WRH site references Corsi's WND article

Obama's birth certificate sealed by Hawaii governor
Says Democratic senator must make request to obtain original document
Posted: October 26, 2008 By Jerome R. Corsi © 2008 WorldNetDaily

Gov. Linda Lingle, R-Hawaii

HONOLULU, Hawaii – Although the legitimacy of Sen. Barack Obama's birth certificate has become a focus of intense speculation – and even several lawsuits – WND has learned that Hawaii's Gov. Linda Lingle has placed the candidate's birth certificate under seal and instructed the state's Department of Health to make sure no one in the press obtains access to the original document under any circumstances.

The governor's office officially declined a request made in writing by WND in Hawaii to obtain a copy of the hospital-generated original birth certificate of Barack Obama.

WND was told the official reason for denial of access to Obama's birth certificate would be authority granted pursuant to Section 338-18 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, a provision the anonymous source claimed was designed to prevent identity theft.

Still, the source told WND confidentially the motivation for withholding the original birth certificate was political, although the source refused to disclose whether there was any information on the original birth certificate that would prove politically embarrassing to Obama.

Get the book that started it all, Jerome Corsi's "The Obama Nation," autographed by the author, exclusively from WND's online store for the amazing low price of just $4.95.

The source also refused to answer WND's question whether the original document on file with the Department of Health was a hospital-generated birth certificate or a registration of birth that may have been filed subsequent to the birth...

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?pageId=79174

To recap, at this point, WND founder made a specific accusation stating as fact:

If you doubt what I am saying, try to find any reference to a hospital associated with Obama's birth. The only one you will find anywhere is the Coast Provincial Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya, where his African relatives claim to have been present when he arrived.

Well, guess what, we doubt what Farah is saying because the link he provides as the one that will show the Coast Provincial Hospital in Mombase, Kenya is where Obama Jr. was born turns out to lead to Jerome Corsi's article which says nothing of the sort, only that

In a startling development, Obama's Kenyan grandmother has reportedly alleged she witnessed Obama's birth at the Coast Provincial Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya.

The statement by Corsi is not resourced.

So how are we to believe Farah, and believe Corsi at this point? We can find no reason to do so.

There is more from WND

WND's Corsi probing Obama's 'Kenyan birth'
In Hawaii unraveling evidence in questions over citizenship
Posted: October 23, 2008 © 2008 WorldNetDaily

WND senior investigative reporter Jerome Corsi, who recently returned from a trip to Kenya with revelations about Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's participation in a foreign nation's internal politics, now has been dispatched to Hawaii to uncover the truth of the senator's place of birth.

The issue has been raised multiple times during the 2008 presidential campaign, with a number of court cases already launched that demand documentation about Obama's birth place. One prominent Pennsylvania Democrat, Philip Berg, has alleged that Obama was born not in Hawaii but in Kenya.

Corsi plans to be in Hawaii for several days to review the evidence and records in the dispute.

He was able to travel even though a chronic health condition landed him on his back following his Kenya trip, especially after he was detained by armed Kenyan soldiers and immigration officials for most of the last day he was in Nairobi, which prevented him from holding a news conference to discuss his discoveries there.

Corsi said he is working with medications that have partially relieved the pain, and he's continuing his effort to discover the truth.

Corsi reported that when he was in Kenya he was told that Obama actually was born not in Honolulu but in Mombosa, on the Kenyan coast. He also said he was told by government officials there that his records were sealed and nothing could be released.

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=78954

Corsi on medications? Curiouser and curiouser...

but hey even though links are missing entirely to material that would independently confirm Obama was born in the Coast Provincial Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya as Farah claims, and Obama's Kenyan grandmother has reportedly alleged she witnessed Obama's Obama's birth at the Coast Provincial Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya and the Jerome Corsi book Obama Nation has been accuracy-challenged, charges specifically made that The book has been criticized for containing factual errors,[1][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] and "not entirely accurate in every respect," disputed by critics, and Obama's campaign provided a

We're not lenient with this approach to the so-called birth certificate controversy, either.

Are There Two Obama Birth Certificates?

In Kenya, where Obama's father is from, a second birth certificate for Obama was issued and registered with Kenya's government. This is a custom in Kenya, when a baby is born to a Kenyan citizen overseas: that birth is recorded in Kenya in addition to the United States, or wherever. The blogs have been buzzing with the fact that GOP operatives have been to Kenya researching Obama's past, and Obama's father and other family in Kenya, and it appears they have obtained a copy of Obama's Kenyan birth certificate.

The reason this is interesting is something no one has caught yet.

In some foreign countries, a baby's religion is written on the birth certificate, particularly in countries with multiple religions. If Kenya is a country that requires this note on a birth certificate, and if Obama's father had "Muslim" written on his birth certificate, then Obama has a lot of explaining to do.

http://chinaconfidential.blogspot.com/2008/06/are-there-two-obama-birth-certificates.html

well, there's the proof Obama II what?

Was not born in Kenya, but oh my goodness a different religion than what he now clasps as his own - Christianity - was put down as his religion possibly on a Kenyan document because his father was Muslim, or whatever, at the time of his birth, a birth which now it has to be acknowledged occurred not in Kenya, but in Honolulu?

What does Obama II have to explain? His Kenyan heritage? Kenyan tradition? No knowledge of who put what down as information about his birth until he reached an age where he could obtain such information if needed for oh say a 'passport?'

No wonder hackers hacked non-public records to obtain such information just around the time Hillary Clinton was facing the fight of her life to grasp at retaining what she once believed was in the bank for her.

We're also struck with the argument the certificate Obama produced back in June is false information because the form uses the term African for the description of the race of Obama's father rather than Negro (which it is argued would have been the prevailing legal description of the race of a black person).

isn't there a simple explanation for the discrepancy if that's what that could be called. Obama's father was born in

Barack Hussein OBAMA Sr. was born in 1936 in Nyangoma-Kogelo,
Siaya District, Kenya and died in a car crash in Nairobi, Kenya in
1982, leaving three wives, six sons and a daughter. All but one of his

District, Kenya.

Obama Sr. was born in Kanyadhiang village, Rachuonyo District[1] on the shores of Lake Victoria just outside Kendu Bay, Kenya and raised in the village of Nyang’oma Kogelo, Siaya District.[7] ^ Ombuor, Joe (2008-11-04). "Obama’s father and the origin of Muslim name", The Standard. Retrieved on 2008-11-13.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama_Sr.

What hospital those resources don't say.

Pick up the Time article noted below and read Dunham introduced Sr. as an African student, attending the same University Ann was attending.

But when people called Hawaii a "melting pot" in the early 1960s, they meant a place where white people blended with Asians. At the time, 19% of white women in Hawaii married Chinese men, and that was considered radical by the rest of the nation. Black people made up less than 1% of the state's population. And while interracial marriage was legal there, it was banned in half the other states.

When Ann told her parents about the African student at school, they invited him over for dinner.
Her father didn't notice when his daughter reached out to hold the man's hand, according to Obama's book. Her mother thought it best not to cause a scene.

http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1729524-3,00.html

It might be useful to determine if any other white women married a Kenyan-born man in Hawaiian islands in the same year, but isn't that going a bit far when it is logical the reason to offer Sr.'s race as African on Barack Obama Jr.s birth certificate is because that's the race Sr. would be considered among the University students?

Fight the Smears birth certificate

http://fightthesmears.com/articles/5/birthcertificate

this should settle things, but we'll see...

notice the issuance date August 8, 1961 of the certificate of live birth comes some mere 4 days after the birth.

Seriously now, an underage pregnant woman who's hestitant to tell her family she's about to get married 3-months into a pregnancy, determines it's in the best interests of herself and her child to leave the family in the last month of the pregnancy she could deliver prematurely which is common among young pregnant women at the time, and she travels with her husband to the country Kenya with him at that time. He goes for this? Knowing he has a wife under Kenyan law? Maybe the two will meet and Ann can get some pointers from Kenyan mothers on how to deliver a premature child without easy access to a University Hospital?

Right. Logically, it doesn't make sense, and to date Corsi and others have provided no evidence the couple travelled outside the United States in the last month or so of the pregnancy.

the following writer doesn't supply any resource which is always a sore point with us - just give us a link, something to follow up on what you've presented as fact.

Well, that's what is being disputed over at WND... still.

Doubts persist about Obama birth certificate
Considerable evidence still points to candidate's birth in Kenya
Posted: November 02, 2008 By Jerome R. Corsi © 2008 WorldNetDaily

Gov. Linda Lingle, R-Hawaii

HONOLULU – Even though Hawaii officials now claim to have verified the authenticity of Sen. Barack Obama's birth certificate – in hopes of ending widespread speculation and even multiple lawsuits challenging the Democrat candidate's constitutional qualification to be president – it turns out there is still reason for serious questioning.

In fact, there is considerable evidence that Obama was born in Kenya, not in Hawaii as the candidate and his campaign have maintained.

As WND reported from Honolulu last week, Gov. Linda Lingle instructed the Hawaii Department of Health to make sure no one in the press obtains access to Obama's original birth certificate. Lingle's letter to WND made clear that the original doctor-generated and hospital-released birth certificate on file with the state's health department would be released to the press if Obama so requested – but to date the candidate has made no such request.

The governor's communication with WND also left ambiguous whether the Obama birth certificate on file with the Department of Health was originally generated by a Hawaii doctor after giving birth to Obama in Hawaii, or generated in Kenya and subsequently registered by the Obama family in Hawaii.

On April 5, WND conducted a telephone interview from New Jersey to Kenya with Sayid Obama, brother of Barack Obama senior and the uncle of Sen. Barack Obama. The interview is reported in the book "The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality" on pages 21-25, 26-28, 29, 30, 34 and 103.

In the interview, Sayid acknowledged he was not sure whether his brother, Barack Obama senior, practiced Islam or whether Barack Obama junior was born in Kenya or in Hawaii.

He did remember distinctly that Obama junior had visited Africa in 1987, then a second time in 1992 when Obama junior traveled to Kenya with his wife-to-be Michelle; and a third time, as a U.S. senator, when Obama returned with Michelle in 2006.

Sayid acknowledged that his father (Sen. Obama's grandfather) was wealthy in the Luo tribe, a practicing Muslim who traveled the world with the British, and insisted that Barack Obama senior attend school and was quite intelligent in school.

WND had scheduled a second telephone interview for April 25 with Auma Obama, Sen. Barack Obama's sister in Kenya, but Auma canceled the interview and apologized to WND after Sen. Obama's campaign forbade her or any other of the Obama family to conduct any further interviews with WND, following the interview with Sayid Obama.

The issue of the authenticity of Obama's original birth certificate is further muddied by communications from Sen. Obama's half-sister, Maya Soetoro, who has claimed Obama was born in two different Hawaii hospitals.

In a November 2004 interview with the Rainbow Newsletter, Maya told reporters her half-brother Sen. Barack Obama was born on Aug. 4, 1961, at Queens Medical Center in Honolulu; then in February 2008, Maya told reporters for the Honolulu Star-Bulletin that Obama was at the Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children.

http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=79900

What is the evidence that is considerable? We have yet to see other than his grandmother reportedly allegedly says so, WND conducted a phone interview wherein "Sayid acknowledged he was not sure whether his brother, Barack Obama senior, practiced Islam or whether Barack Obama junior was born in Kenya or in Hawaii."

Notice the juxtaposition of Barack Obama senior and Barack Obama junior in the paragraph. See if you catch Sayid acknowledged

he was not sure...

so Sayid was not sure ... Barack Obama junior was born in Kenya or in Hawaii.

Yet this is mounting evidence Obama was born in Kenya?

Fight To Reveal Obama's Birth Certificate Continues
By John P. Connolly, The Bulletin 11/09/2008

Mr. Obama put an electronic photo of a birth certification on his "Fight the Smears" Web site, a document that his critics have found unconvincing. The raised seal and authoritative signature needed to validate the document cannot be seen on the scan. The Obama campaign was unwilling to release the original document to the court when Mr. Berg filed suit in August, choosing instead to argue against Mr. Berg's standing.

Mr. Berg asserts that Mr. Obama was born in Kenya, as his mother, Ann Dunham, was denied entry to the plane home due to her advanced pregnancy. Since she was only 18 at the time of Mr. Obama's birth, she would not have passed citizenship on to Mr. Obama. In 1961, citizenship could only be passed on to a child where one parent was an alien should the citizen parent have resided in the U.S. for 10 years, five of those over the age of 14.

The State of Hawaii has refused to release copies of Mr. Obama's birth certificate, because Department of Health officials say the privacy statutes of the state prevent them from doing so to anyone who does not have a "direct and tangible interest" in the record as prescribed in the state statute.

In Honolulu, Andy Martin, a longtime critic of Mr. Obama, filed a lawsuit in October, in an attempt to get the Hawaiian Department of Health to release Mr. Obama's birth certificate records. Mr. Martin announced last week that he plans to get members of the Electoral College to pressure Mr. Obama into presenting his birth certificate.

Settle for the moment on what Berg says as factually true. And WND republishes over and over again.

Obama was born in Kenya, Berg asserts. So where is his substantiation for that as a factual statement?

Others in addition to Berg have used this same claim that Obama's mother, Stanley Ann Dunham was not a citizen at the time of Obama's birth date because from their assessments a law at the time would have precluded her being a citizen because she had not what resided in the U.S. for ten years, five of those over the age of 14?

Just look again to the refutation of that argument by way of Janego and Volokh.

November 8th, 2008 Barack Obama: Born in Hawai`i by Andrew Walden

The truth about Obama's birth certificate.
Summary
In June, the Obama campaign released a digitally scanned image of his birth certificate to quell speculative charges that he might not be a natural-born citizen. But the image prompted more blog-based skepticism about the document's authenticity. And recently, author Jerome Corsi, whose book attacks Obama, said in a TV interview that the birth certificate the campaign has is "fake."

We beg to differ. FactCheck.org staffers have now seen, touched, examined and photographed the original birth certificate. We conclude that it meets all of the requirements from the State Department for proving U.S. citizenship. Claims that the document lacks a raised seal or a signature are false. We have posted high-resolution photographs of the document as "supporting documents" to this article. Our conclusion: Obama was born in the U.S.A. just as he has always said.

Update, Nov. 1: The director of Hawaii’s Department of Health confirmed Oct. 31 that Obama was born in Honolulu.

Meanwhile, read closely, talk about having to read every single line and word of WND articles to get at exactly what is being stated and then coming away more puzzled by lack of substantiation:

2 campaigns seek 'truth' about Obama's birth
Eligibility for presidency hinges on American citizenship

Barack Obama

Israel Insider is reporting that analysts working separately have determined the birth certificate posted on the Daily Kos website and later on Sen. Barack Obama's "Fight the Smears" campaign website is fraudulent, and now two different actions have been launched to try and obtain the truth about the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee's birth.

The Israel Insider report said the two analysts it interviewed both have been "able to independently discern the name 'Maya Kassandra Soetoro' from artifacts left behind in the process of forging a new fake document for Barack from an image of Maya's original document." Maya is Obama's younger half-sister.

The report follows a posting from another researcher, identified by the news publication as Techdude, that the birth certificate is a forgery because it originally documented the birth of a woman in the 1970s...

...The forensic computer investigators interviewed by the news publication concluded there are two obvious possibilities for the birth certificate image: A real certificate was scanned and digitally edited or a real certificate was scanned for the graphic layout, then blanked by soaking the document in solvent to remove the toner.

The certificate was published by the Daily Kos June 12 following initial reports questioning Obama's place of birth. He's stated he was born in Hawaii, but if that was not the case, his citizenship could be uncertain, since his father was not a citizen and his mother was not old enough to pass along American citizenship automatically.

The issue originally was raised by Jim Geraghty, reporting on the Campaign Spot, a National Review blog. He cited the "unlikely" possibility that Obama's 1961 birth was not within the U.S.

At the time, he wrote, "If Obama were born outside the United States, one could argue that he would not meet the legal definition of natural-born citizen … because U.S. law at the time of his birth required his natural-born parent (his mother) to have resided in the United States for 10 years, at least [f]ive of which had to be after the age of 16.'"

He then pointed out Ann Dunham, Obama's mother, was 18 when Obama was born, "so she wouldn't have met the requirement of five years after the age of 16."

When the Daily Kos website posted an image that appeared to be Obama's birth certificate, Geraghty announced he was satisfied.

Again, read carefully.

First who are the forensic computer investigators interviewed by Israel Insider?

The forensic computer investigators interviewed by the news publication concluded there are two obvious possibilities for the birth certificate image: A real certificate was scanned and digitally edited or a real certificate was scanned for the graphic layout, then blanked by soaking the document in solvent to remove the toner.

Do we learn names of 'forensic computer investigators from the WND article about the Israel Insider news publication?

Not by our reading. Names are not equated in the article to 'forensic computer investigators' yet we are expected to believe and trust in what unnamed and unidentified 'forensic computer investigators' have said in an interview conducted by Israel Insider, an interview which we have no accessibility to reading or viewing.

the matter strains credulity... but there is more. The WND article 2 campaigns seek 'truth' about Obama's birth Eligibility for presidency hinges on American citizenship August 08, 2008 © 2008 WorldNetDaily

continues.

Israel Insider is reporting that analysts working separately have determined the birth certificate posted on the Daily Kos website and later on Sen. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=71763

So who are the two analysts? Are they Blogger Mitchell Langbert and Ted Moran?

Can you name them specifically from reading the article? Is one of them Jim Geraghty, reporting on the Campaign Spot, a National Review blog...???

Are the two analysts the Israel Insider intervied and who we are to assume are as well 'forensic computer investigators' any of persons named in the WND article? And who is using the material of TechTude to form the basis for any analysis?

Seriously now, if we presented TechDude as a resource, even an implication of a Techdude, an anonymous resource, used in an article we submitted for publication, or a book idea for submission to a reputable publishing house, we'd be forever tagged as worse than out-of-the-loop of journalistic ethics and professionalism.

We'd be considered as person don't bother us with your amateurism ever again.

Read the entire article first put forward as coming from an Israel Insider report and put forth as containing information from two analysts that

have determined the birth certificate posted on the Daily Kos website and later on Sen. Barack Obama's "Fight the Smears" campaign website is fraudulentis not specifically resourced.

Techdude's real id is not revealed, the Dude remains anonymous by the end of the article.

Blogger Mitchell Langbert now has launched an online petition to the Federal Election Commission in which signers are asking the agency to "take responsibility to verify the eligibility of Mr. Barack H. Obama to be president of the United States."

Ted Moran, who said he wished to be contacted at brotherbear@solomonsstables.org, said he also was launching a campaign to discern the truth about Obama's birth certificate.

so Ok we're that far gone to try to cover all our bases.

Analyst 1 Langbert?

http://mitchell-langbert.blogspot.com/2008/08/petition-to-request-federal-elections.html

OK excerpt from Langbert's blog

An electronically-displayed image displayed by his official campaign website has alleged to have been a forgery, with the filing number blacked out.

So where is Langbert's proof of what the Israel Insider report said the analysts had revealed:

have determined the birth certificate posted on the Daily Kos website and later on Sen. Barack Obama's "Fight the Smears" campaign website is fraudulentis not specifically resourced.

That determination is not made by Langbert on his blog. Instead Langbert only says "An electronically-displayed image... has alleged to have been a forgery, with the filing number blacked out.

For readers' sakes, where is the link usually one would supply when making a reference to a forgery? Nobody is identified as having put the forgery forward as a determination on Langbert's site.

As for the other implicated one of two potential analysts who Israel Insider reports

have determined the birth certificate posted on the Daily Kos website and later on Sen. Barack Obama's "Fight the Smears" campaign website is fraudulentis not specifically resourced.

We're just having some fun speculating that one as Ted Moran... who doesn't give a website only an email addy to contact.

Ted Moran, who said he wished to be contacted at brotherbear@solomonsstables.org, said he also was launching a campaign to discern the truth about Obama's birth certificate.

We'd have to conduct another search when it should not be up to us to supply what Moran might have said which led the Israel Insider (and WND citing the Israel Insider) to potentially offer Moran as one of two analysts who

have determined the birth certificate posted on the Daily Kos website and later on Sen. Barack Obama's "Fight the Smears" campaign website is fraudulentis not specifically resourced.

Notice, WND has not named the two analysts Israel Insider reported as being interviewed and as having made an actual determination of the Obama site electronic copy of a birth certificate being a forgery.

These are unnamed forensic computer investigators and analysts.

But most disturbing, World Net Daily does not even provide a link to the Israel Insider website which contains any of what is being reported as Israel Insider findings and conclusions based on interviews with two analysts, forensic computer investigators.

Not a single highlighted link to Israel Insider. Not even at the bottom of the page or when Israel Insider is named in the lead sentence is there a highlighted link.

The report follows a posting from another researcher, identified by the news publication as Techdude, that the birth certificate is a forgery because it originally documented the birth of a woman in the 1970s.

Now if you read that yet again, you get the idea that the Israel Insider report is very likely based on a 'posting from another researcher, identified by the news publication as Techdude"...

Any other outfit did this kind of reporting and any reputation they had for accurate, honest, decent reporting previously would be gone immediately.

World Net Daily had been so much more than this kind of non-sense.

That reputable, or formerly so, publishing trailblazer World Net Daily would even include that mess from Israel Insider in any way as professionalism is disturbing in the final analysis.

WND has thrown all investigative caution to the well, WND.

How about we all use the highest order of common sense and logic, and refuse to be taken in by what appears moreso every day like an effort to gain web traffic to gain more paying ad sponsors, to sell more publications and books to site visitors, all because you can without regard for the truth. Truth which is revealed from displaying substantiated facts, not speculation, and certainly not presenting anonymous Techdudes as researchers we have to research.

And here you have it, the finality as you see from a single quick search we're proven right on target.

The Story of Barack Obama's Mother
By Amanda Ripley/Honolulu Wednesday, Apr. 09, 2008

...On Feb. 2, 1961, several months after they met, Obama's parents got married in Maui, according to divorce records. It was a Thursday. At that point, Ann was three months pregnant with Barack Obama II. Friends did not learn of the wedding until afterward. "Nobody was invited," says Abercrombie. The motivations behind the marriage remain a mystery, even to Obama. "I never probed my mother about the details. Did they decide to get married because she was already pregnant? Or did he propose to her in the traditional, formal way?" Obama wonders. "I suppose, had she not passed away, I would have asked more."

Even by the standards of 1961, she was young to be married. At 18, she dropped out of college after one semester, according to University of Hawaii records. When her friends back in Washington heard the news, "we were very shocked," says Box, her high school friend.

Then, when Obama was almost 1, his father left for Harvard to get a Ph.D. in economics. He had also been accepted to the New School in New York City, with a more generous scholarship that would have allowed his family to join him. But he decided to go to Harvard. "How can I refuse the best education?" he told Ann, according to Obama's book.

Obama's father had an agenda: to return to his home country and help reinvent Kenya. He wanted to take his new family with him. But he also had a wife from a previous marriage there—a marriage that may or may not have been legal. In the end, Ann decided not to follow him. "She was under no illusions," says Abercrombie. "He was a man of his time, from a very patriarchal society." Ann filed for divorce in Honolulu in January 1964, citing "grievous mental suffering"—the reason given in most divorces at the time. Obama Sr. signed for the papers in Cambridge, Mass., and did not contest the divorce.

Supremes to review citizenship arguments
Case challenging candidacy set for 'conference' of justices
Posted: November 20, 2008 By Bob Unruh © 2008 WorldNetDaily

A case that challenges President-elect Barack Obama's name on the 2008 election ballot citing questions over his citizenship has been scheduled for a "conference" at the U.S. Supreme Court.

Conferences are private meetings of the justices at which they review cases and decide which ones to accept for formal review. This case is set for a conference Dec. 5, just 10 days before the Electoral College is scheduled to meet to make formal the election of Obama as the nation's next president.

The Supreme Court's website listed the date for the case brought by Leo C. Donofrio against Nina Wells, the secretary of state in New Jersey, over not only Obama's name on the 2008 election ballot but those of two others, Sen. John McCain and Roger Calero.

Thousands sign online demand, reveal frustration over secrecy

Barack Obama

Thousands of people are jumping aboard a petition that demands documentation of President-elect Barack Obama's eligibility to hold the highest office in the U.S., not just assurances from party officials.

Already more than 90,000 petitioners have joined the effort coordinated by WND founder and editor Joseph Farah.

To participate, sign the petition here.

A report accompanying Farah's petition explains the many questions raised about Obama's eligibility, from an apparently fabricated "Certification of Live Birth" posted online to questions about what nation's passport he used during to travel to Pakistan.

The signature total passed 10,000 within hours and was more than 45,000 just over a day later.

As WND reported, one case is scheduled for a conference among U.S. Supreme Court justices Dec. 5.

Conferences are private meetings of the justices at which they review cases and decide which ones to accept for formal review. The Supreme Court's website listed the date for the case brought by Leo C. Donofrio against Nina Wells, the secretary of state in New Jersey, over not only Obama's name on the 2008 election ballot but those of two others, Sen. John McCain and Roger Calero.

The case, unsuccessful at the state level, was submitted to Justice David Souter, who rejected it. The case then was resubmitted to Justice Clarence Thomas. The next line on the court's docket says: "DISTRIBUTED for Conference of December 5, 2008."

If four of the nine justices vote to hear the case in full, oral argument may be scheduled.

Is Obama's candidacy constitutional?
Secrecy over birth certificate, demand for 'natural-born' citizenship cited
Posted: June 10, 2008
2008 WorldNetDaily

Barack Obama

Bloggers are raising questions about Illinois Sen. Barack Obama's qualifications to be U.S. president, because of the secrecy over his birth certificate and the requirement presidents be "natural-born" U.S. citizens.

Jim Geraghty, reporting on the Campaign Spot, a National Review blog, cited the "unlikely" but still circulating rumor that Obama was born not within the United States, but elsewhere, possibly Kenya.

Geraghty defined the concerns most clearly, stating: "If Obama were born outside the United States, one could argue that he would not meet the legal definition of natural-born citizen … because U.S. law at the time of his birth required his natural-born parent (his mother) to have resided in the United States for '10 years, at least [f]ive of which had to be after the age of 16.'"

He then points out Ann Dunham, Obama's mother, was 18 when Obama was born "so she wouldn't have met the requirement of five years after the age of 16."

Geraghty continues: " (Interestingly, apparently there isn't much paperwork on Obama's parents' marriage. 'Obama: From Promise to Power,' page. 27: 'Obama later confessed that he never searched for the government documents on the marriage, although Madelyn (Obama's maternal grandmother) insisted they were legally married.' Also note that Obama's father apparently was not legally divorced from his first wife back in Kenya at the time, a point of contention that ultimately led to their separation.)"

The reports released to date show Obama was born in Honolulu to Barack Hussein Obama Sr., of Nyangoma-Kogelo, Kenya, and Ann Dunham, of Wichita, Kan.

According to FindLaw.com, which is cited by Geraghty, the requirements that were in force from Dec. 24, 1952 to Nov. 13, 1986, encompassing the time of Obama's birth, state, "If only one parent was a U.S. citizen at the time of your birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least 10 years, at least five of which had to be after the age of 16."

Obama's father, a student sent to the United States from Africa, lived several places in the United States while attending class. He then returned to his homeland. Obama's mother later married another man and moved to Indonesia.

Geraghty said the Obama campaign could "debunk" the rumors about his birth simply by releasing a copy of his birth certificate, but the campaign has so far chosen not to do that.

"The campaign cited the birth certificate in their 'Fact Check' on William Ayers, so presumably, someone in the campaign has access to it," he said.

Hawaii doesn't make public information from birth certificates.

Is Obama’s candidacy constitutional?
Posted by True Obama Facts on 11 Jun 2008

Sam
Well, all the birth certificate really shows is that he was born in Hawaii. It still doesn’t settle the natural born citizen problem, unless of course the new laws were retroactive. Anyone know if they were indeed retroactive?
Sam

on 18 Jun 2008 at 2:01 pm # JB
Obama’s birth in Hawaii at a time when it was a state means that he is definitely a natural born citizen.

The section of law dealing with citizenship of parents and the length of their residency in the United States is that which deals with citizenship acquired by those born abroad to US citizen parents. This section is non-applicable to anyone born in the United States and subject to its jurisdiction (meaning that they are not born into a diplomatic family that has immunity from the law), as those individuals acquire citizenship under the 14th Amendment to the Constitution. Had the law been written so as to deny citizenship being granted at the moment of birth to those in Obama’s situation, then the statute would have violated the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution.

Therefore, Sam’s question of retroactivity is missing the point altogether because those citing the law are either basing their argument on a false allegation that Obama was born outside the United States or ignorance of both the nature of the statute that they are citing and the 14th Amendment.

Now, can we please act like adults and discuss the issues?

...Until Mr. Blagojevich came along, however, the best the blogosphere could fabricate was a ludicrous conspiracy that Mr. Obama is not a "natural born" citizen, and therefore constitutionally prohibited from assuming the presidency.

Why? Because his father was Kenyan. Or Mr. Obama allegedly renounced his citizenship while living in Indonesia. Or he was born in Africa, and his birth certificate is a forgery. Take your pick.

Various individuals have launched lawsuits in search of a judge who will issue an injunction before the inaugural, thus far without success.

No wonder the Republicans leapt on the Blagojevich scandal, despite the lack of any tangible connection to the incoming president. Come on, they're dying here.
