Obama challenged on Insider appointments

We warned days earlier of "InsiderS" appointments. Only we accurately noted affiliations of Cabinet economic appointments to be made by Barack Obama as Insiders of the kind John McManus shows as not only historically influential back to the days of Woodrow Wilson, at least, but an overwhelming amount of the Presidential appointment picks in key Cabinet offices (historically)(Secretary of State or Defense) held Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) membership.

Obama Economic Team Council Foreign Relations Membership

Change we can believe? in?

The (UK Times Online, Chicago-based correspoindent) article surprisingly (being UK) doesn't point out any more than Obama's filled his "new Cabinet with veteran Washington insiders and former Clinton officials".

Barack Obama forced to deny abandoning 'change' amid insider appointments November 27, 2008 Tim Reid in Chicago

Tim Reid in Chicago
Barack Obama defended his decision to pack his new Cabinet with veteran Washington insiders and former Clinton officials yesterday after a campaign in which he promised change.

The President-elect responded after naming the former Federal Reserve chairman Paul Volcker, a veteran of the Carter and Reagan Administrations, as the head of a new economic panel to stop “groupthink” infecting his inner circle of White House financial advisers.

There have been mounting concerns, particularly from the liberal wing of his Democratic Party, that Mr Obama has pivoted sharply to the centre-right with his choice of top Cabinet posts.

His main economic advisers have close ties to the Clinton White House and Mr Obama has already chosen Hillary Clinton to be his Secretary of State. His chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, once served Bill Clinton, and more appointments still to be announced will include a slew of officials who served in the most recent Democratic Administration...

...Mr Obama said he was forming an economic recovery advisory board, with Mr Volcker to head it, to give independent economic advice from outside the White House. “Sometimes policymaking in Washington can become a little bit too ingrown, a little bit too insular,” Mr Obama said. “The walls of the echo chamber can sometimes keep out fresh voices and new ways of thinking.”

Mr Obama said the board, which would report to him regularly, would be filled with individuals from diverse sectors of the economy and would be government outsiders, “to challenge some of our assumptions, to make sure that we are not just doing the same old thing all the time”.

Paul Volcker? to give independent economic advice from outside the White House?

Just another Washington insider, retired?

His main economic advisers have close ties to the Clinton White House and Mr Obama has already chosen Hillary Clinton to be his Secretary of State. His chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, once served Bill Clinton, and more appointments still to be announced will include a slew of officials who served in the most recent Democratic Administration.

Obama's main economic advisers have close ties to the Clinton White House?

That's all?

Just find the names and do a search with those names and council (on) foreign relations members or bilderberg or trilateral commission. See what you find.

Isn't it odd that up pops material using in the headline of the article - "insider" appointments - the same term that applies to the real Insiders (as tagged decades ago in John McManus' slim but eye-popping hefty book THE INSIDERS)(Insiders online free)?

Yet to date mainstream material lacks pointing out the connection between the Council on Foreign Relations members (Trilateral Commission and Bilderberg, too) and historically appointments made by every President since back to Woodrow Wilson. Appointments of individuals who have not only mere ties to the Council on Foreign Relations, but positions of membership or adminsitration?

Notice how the article only points out Obama's

main economic advisers have close ties to the Clinton White House

The article doesn't mention and why not the majority of these advisors (appointments) resume includes Council on Foreign Relations membership.

Delve into outing them all it takes is some time and desire and effort to research and confirm from as many sources as possible... There are hundreds of such finds.

Paul Volcker

The Paul A. Volcker Chair in International Economics
The Council on Foreign Relations established the Paul A. Volcker Chair in International Economics in 1997 to honor Paul A. Volcker, long active in the Council and a member of its Board of Directors, an outstanding public servant and a leading international economist.

Volcker must have excellent health care still kicking.

This is change?

Paul A. Volcker was chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System from 1979 to 1987, and is credited with the leading role in ending a period of high and rising inflation and restoring a base for sustained growth. Initially appointed to that position by President Carter for a four-year term, he was reappointed in 1983 by President Reagan. Upon completion of his second term as chairman, Mr. Volcker returned to private life, joining as chairman of the firm James D. Wolfensohn Inc. He retired as chairman and CEO of Wolfensohn & Co., Inc. upon the merger of that firm in 1996 with the Bankers Trust Company.

In the course of his career, Mr. Volcker worked in the federal government for almost 30 years, serving in office under five pre sidents—John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard M. Nixon, Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan. Immediately before becoming Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in 1979, Mr. Volcker spent more than four years as president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the principal operating arm of the system.

Earlier, Mr. Volcker had two tours of duty as an official of the U.S. Treasury, serving as under secretary for monetary affairs from 1969 to 1974. In that position he was responsible for developing and implementing Treasury debt management and Federal credit policies. On behalf of the United States, he conducted international monetary negotiations during the transition from the Bretton Woods fixed exchange rate system to the more flexible system of floating rates that has prevailed since the early 1970s.

We've yet to come across other than the Times Online UK article confirming Obama has already named Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. Hubbie hasn't yet been fully vetted. All those foreign connections and fees for speeches to anyone, any organization on the planet, and Hillary is going to pass the test related to which of Bill's connections will not be allowed?

Obama seriously considering Clinton after the psychological warfare noted by no less than Carl Bernstein was being used against Obama by the Clintons?

Plus, all Secretaries of State have held direct membership in the CFR, that has not been established for Hillary, though it's been reported she's attended the secret Bilderberger meetings.

Ties to but not among the members that we could find as legitimate (live leak is not a source we would use)

Clinton Press

The biggest obstacle fell after Bill Clinton handed over his financial records Thursday, and Obama and Clinton had "good, substantive talks," a source said.

Obama plans to wait until after Thanksgiving before pulling the trigger on the nomination because "the full national security team is still being worked out," and he wants to have all the members in place before he makes the announcement, the source said.

"This administration is gonna be some wonderful ride," said a jubilant former Clinton aide who had pushed for her to become Obama's vice presidential choice.

Clinton in the last few days began aggressively pursuing the secretary of state slot and mounted an all-out sales campaign amid fears the job might be slipping away, sources said.

Former Clinton campaign aides and some of her inner-circle advisers - aka Hillaryland - were part of a coordinated effort to win her the top State Department post, the Clinton source confirmed.

These Clinton allies were e-mailing and working the phones with Obama contacts, appearing on cable TV and leaking optimistic scenarios to the media.

"All you have to do is pay attention and see how they are operating, and it looks like [a campaign ]," said the Democratic source.
