Four dozen potential global investors and financial firms offering professional services have responded to Gov. Ed Rendell's request for "expressions of interest" letters on taking over the Pennsylvania Turnpike...

...The 100-mile Mon-Fayette Expressway and Southern Beltway toll road projects are said to be a separate consideration already being evaluated for investment by the Australian-based Macquarie Group, which recently obtained long-term leases for the Chicago Skyway (99 years) and the Indiana Toll Road (75 years).

Macquarie Group, the firm trying to buy Duquesne Light Co., was among the investment firms submitting an expression of interest letter to PennDOT yesterday...

There is something called the Agreement on Security and Prosperity that is being negotiated by the Bush administration very quietly. No hearings are being held in this Congress. Most Americans have never even heard the term, but it really is the successor to NAFTA...
