Lou Dobbs Tonight interviewed Marcy Kaptur and Rep. DeFazio on the failure of the bailout plan in the House of Reps. The pair said the Senate is about to vote on something similar to the House possibly tomorrow.

Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur boldly slammed the bailout bill
this past weekend as the work of criminal insiders who have
shut down the normal legislative process to commit “high
financial crimes” and defraud the American people, while Rep.
Michael Burgess warns that “martial law” has been declared.
The two Congress members are part of a growing minority of
representatives sounding the alarm about the dictatorial
nature of the bailout bill, which is expected to be up for a
vote in the House today, with most in Congress having not had
the opportunity to even read the legislation.
The bill is expected to reach the Senate on Wednesday as a
raft of outraged politicians cry foul about being strong-armed
and accused of being unpatriotic for opposing the carte-
blanche passage of a piece of legislation that fundamentally
centralizes control of the financial infrastructure of the
country into the hands of the government and the Federal
Reserve.
“We are Constitutionally sworn to protect and defend this
Republic against all enemies foreign and domestic. And my
friends there are enemies,” Kaptur told the House floor.
“The people pushing this deal are the very ones who are
responsible for the implosion on Wall Street. They were
fraudulent then and they are fraudulent now.”
“My message to the American people don’t let Congress seal
this deal. High financial crimes have been committed,” added
the Democrat from Ohio.
“The normal legislative process has been shelved. Only a few
insiders are doing the dealing, sounds like insider trading to
me. These criminals have so much political power than can shut
down the normal legislative process of the highest law making
body of this land,” Kaptur concluded.
Elsewhere, Rep. Michael Burgess (R-TX) said that the only
information he had received about the bailout was what talking
points to use on the American people and that he had been
thrown out of meetings for not blindly supporting the bill.
Ominously, Burgess also comments, “Mr. Speaker I understand we
are under Martial Law as declared by the speaker last night.”
Absent any proper hearings concerning the legislation, Burgess
called for the legislation to at least be posted on the
Internet for 24 hours so that the American people could “see
what we have done in the dark of night.”

There have been rumblings of the US being under martial law. When I came across this, I did a little research and discovered that martial law has two different meanings. The main meaning is what we’re all afraid of: putting us under the control of the armed forces.
The second meaning refers to a House rule and has nothing to do with soldiers in our streets. Here is the text of the rule:
That House rule (Rule XIII(6)(a)) provides that a resolution (called a rule) reported by the Rules Committee cannot be considered by the House on the same legislative day that the rule is reported (except by a two-thirds vote of the House). This is supposed to ensure that Members of the House and the public have at least one day to examine and analyze what is in legislation before they have to debate and vote on it.
This extraordinary procedure is known as a “martial law” rule because it suspends the normal procedures and safeguards and allows the House Leadership to operate in a more authoritarian fashion.
With that out of the way, it’s my duty to inform you that this is not a reason to stop being vigilant. With trillions at stake, small things like liberty prove to be less important than we’d prefer to believe.

No matter how our elected Congressional officials accomplish what they are about to do - using tactic or strategy, a recovery plan or bailout - it is unconstitutional.
Furthermore, has nobody yet considered, this Congress is a lame duck. Should it pass anything at all it should all be replaced this election cycle. Even Ron Paul should go even though he's one lone voice desiring abolishment of the Federal Reserve. He remains ensconced in a political party end of his opportunity to claim true independence.
also considering the stock market didn't totally crash after the failed House vote, and actually rebounded by the second day after, this indicates the sky is NOT falling as is being portrayed.
The USA already has a deficit in the trillions and is borrowing to pay for entitlements and government programs and operation of government.
In other words, we the people do not own our real-estate property anyway or our income earnings.
Foreigners own about one-third of our debt and the rest is in the form of so-called Treasury bonds.
the plan whatever the so-called safeguards put forth by either political party in power to "borrow" money from foreigners in order to come up with $700 billion or more in USA dollars is not only unconstitutional, it will be a debt never paid off fully.
Not only will taxpayers have to be taxed more now to pay off the principal they'll be taxed more in the future to pay off the interest.
We don't have to be under Martial Law to be slaves and serfs.
That is what we are. But the public has little recourse since the propaganda is rampant even by the so-called Free Press.
When this vote goes through and is accepted in the Senate and in the House the next day, your recommendation we should not stop being vigilant though well-meaning is simply and unfortunately not able to be carried out.
What are we going to be vigilant of? Our sliver of true Liberty we possessed before this date will be irrevocably gone.
Gone forever unless people call their senators and representatives and tell them no interference no unconstitutional action.
No recovery plan period.
