Counsel for Howard K. Stern, Christa Barth, has been attempting to bring in material, as yet without production of documentation, that Smith's mother, Vergie Arthur, has been paid, or is expected to be paid, for interviews with certain news outlets. Barth mentioned Splash, Inside Edition, ABC, ABC outlets, and a couple of names, including, Babette Perry.
